2023 Dedication of Andritsaina House

During the 2023 PHP season, the team celebrated the generous gift by Dr. Mary Voyatzis of her family home in Andritsaina. The home is being converted by a team of local architects to become a research center dedicated to the study of the area within the Parrhasian Heritage Park.

2019 Presidential Conference

On May 31, 2019 a group of PHP representatives met with the President of the Hellenic Republic, Mr. Prokopios Pavlopoulos. PHP representatives included Dr. David Gilman Romano, Dr. Mary Voyatzis, Dr. Costas Cassios, Dr. Demetris Papakonstantinou, and Dr. Nota Pantzou. The purpose of the conference was to discuss the area that has been proposed to become Greece’s first large scale cultural heritage park.

2016 Meeting with the President of Greece

David Gilman Romano (right), Mary Voyatzis (left) and Costas Cassios (center right) met with the President of Greece, Procopis Pavlopoulos in July 2016 in his office in the Presidential Palace in Athens to discuss the Parrhasian Heritage Park of the Peloponnesos. The President promised to work directly with us towards the formal creation of the Park.

2011 Alliance Meeting

Plans for the future of the Park were discussed at the first meeting of the Park Alliance on July 31, 2011. Held in Megalopolis, the Governor of the Peloponnesos Dr. Petros Tatoulis presided. A supportive statement from the Minister of Culture, Pavlos Gerolanos was read at the meeting by Dr. Anna Karapanagiotou. Brief talks were given by Dr. Tatoulis, Dr. Takis Bouras, Dr. Costas Cassios, Dr. David Romano, Dr. Mary Voyatzis, Mr. Mark Davison and Ms. Ximena Valle.

2010 Planning Workshop

This event brought experts and locals together to ideate on the protection of natural, cultural and scenic resources while promoting local livelihoods and traditions. By the end of the workshop, participants developed a mission statement, list of goals, and a design concepts to guide park development.
